DAY 1 : Pangkalan Bun – Kumai – Tanjung Harapan – Night Walk – Sekonyer River
Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun you’ll be met and transferred to Kumai for boarding to the Kelotok. Leaving Kumai River, you’ll have an opportunity to see riverfront life. Borneo has so many rivers so boat is the main transportation here. May you also see thousand high building like hotel with tiny holes, a semi-wild swift poultry to harvest its nest.
Cruising to Sekonyer River, the estuarine habitat with unique vegetation called mangrove. Our next destination is Tanjung Harapan. We will visit Orangutan Observation site at 15.00 with approximately forest walking for 30 minutes in advance to reach this site. Lunch will be provided on the boat, and keep watching along the river bands for wildlife such as Proboscis Monkey-the endemic monkey in Borneo, Long-tailed Macaque, Red-leaf Monkey, Silvered Langur or birdlife along the riverside. After watching theOrangutans, we will back to the boat and cruise around Sekonyer River. You’ll have time to relax, enjoying fresh air or do some primate spotting in the roosting tree. Afternoon in the river banks is the best time and place to see packs of Proboscis Monkey- an endemic primate in Borneo Island.
An additional activity “night walk” will be offering before dinner time, a short walk to see nocturnal animals, including spider, moth, insect, frogs, snake and other animals. It takes approx. 56 minutes. Looking for a good place to tied up and sleep overnight. After dark, the jungle more live with various of voices: crickets, tree frogs, birds, splashing water by fishes or crocs, or an Orangutan long call.

DAY 2 : Sekonyer River – Jerumbun Reforestation – Camp Leakey – SekonyerRiver
After a sunrise breakfast, cruising up the river to Jerumbun Reforestation. This is an restoration site managed by a local conservation group. You will have an experience of walking into disturbance area and learn some ecological succession. Small birds are interested to watch in the herbaceus vegetation. You are invited to contribute to the rainforest by planting trees. It is really important to do small things to conserve the species of tree also providing food for the animals in the future. Your trip is included 1 tree adoption/traveler, if you would like to donate more trees, it is very welcomed. Your boat will continue exploring Sekonyer Kanan to Camp Leakey, the legendary Orangutan Rehabilitation Camp, where Prof. Birute MF. Galdikas started her study in early 1971. Boating a side creek through tea-colored water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river, when lucky with you, the freshwater crocodile and other wildlife attractions could find a long river band. After having lunch anddeparting to Camp Leakey, we can spend the rest of the day hiking through the Borneo rainforest, exploring peat swamp forest, lowland dipterocarp habitat, searching for wildlife, or enjoying varieties of fungi, orchids, slipper orchids, mosses, and ferns, then
enjoying Orangutan Observation Site at 14.00 pm. After observing the Orangutan in Camp Leakey, boatwill drive to the downstream. This is the best time to see Proboscis monkey and other wildlife in the riverbanks. Beautiful sunset also appearing in some different spot.

DAY 3 : Sekonyer River – Pondok Tanggui – Canoeing SungaiBuluh
After breakfast, boat will cruise to Pondok Tanggui, Orangutan Observation station starting at 09.00. Orangutan is semi solitary so you will meet the different Orangutan in their different homerange-kind of territory. You can stay there till 11.00 and having a small jungle walk, then back to the boat for lunch. After lunch boat will cruise downstream to Sungai Buluh. You’ll have time to relax, enjoying fresh air or do some primate spotting. Boating a side creek through tea colored water where you will see the magnificent reflection from the vegetation along the river, when lucky with you, the fresh water crocodile and other wildlife attraction could find a long river bands.
Arriving Sungai Buluh, we can spend the rest of the day by trekking and canoeing through the Borneo rain forest, exploring the river, a peat swamp forest, lowland dipterocarp habitat, searching wildlife or enjoying varieties of trees. Accompanied by the villager and Pokdarwis a local tourism awareness group, you will have a time for exploring the black water river with small boat in the afternoon. This excursion takes approximately 2 hours.
After getting back to the boat, we continue to downstream to see packs of Proboscis monkey in the roosting trees. Spotting big dominant male will be really interesting. I will tell you the most 3 important tofigure out a dominant male. One of them is big nose. Cruising Sekonyer River in sunset time for wildlife spotting, and find out a nice place for tied up.

DAY 4 : Sekonyer River – Planting Trees – Kumai – Airport
After breakfast, continue by Kelotok down river to Kumai. The boat will continue to cruise down the river,and wildlife spotting is not over yet. Enjoying your coffee in the boat while exploring the river in themorning, may you meet the Orangutan foraging in the trees around riverbank. It will offer you an incredible experience. Long-snout Crocodiles may sun-busking on the river bank when the weather really good. Departing Kumai, you’ll be transferred to Pangkalan Bun, possible to visit Orangutan souvenir and handicraft gallery before your next destination.

Boat checking out maks at 09.00. During low season Nov to June, we can extend the service till lunch time due to the boat availability.
After breakfast, Boat will cruise into Sekonyer River. If you interested to see the village, boat will stop to sei Sekonyer Village, the rural village on the border of Tanjung Puting National Park. This village is form by the history of Tanjung Puting since the status as Nature Reserve with less than half of recent wide. Sekonyer Village is an orangutan-friendly village which moved when the National Parks area is getting wider. You may see some locals with their daily live. An old settlement of mixed culture just next to the National Park. Youwill have a half hour walking to see the village, people daily life and their activities, including how they get fresh water by rain harvesting.
