DAYAK KENYAH TOUR

The Dayak village is from early 1970, when the Dayak Kenyah and Dayak Kayan tribes migrated from the isolated Apokayan highlands downstream to more accessable locations. Now-a-days Pampang is a cultural Dayak village with regular ceremonies, and Dayak art full longhouse. Some of the Dayak people are still have long ears, and Tattoo, which make it all an moment of one of the last memorable Dayak Culture signs, in the rapidly changing Kalimantan development.

In Samarinda, there is a tourist destination where the residents work as ketupat craftsmen, called Kampung Ketupat. This village is approximately twelve kilometers from the city center. Over time, this village has developed into a tourist icon of Samarinda city. Tourists who visit this village can see the process of making ketupat directly. What’s more interesting is that tourists can enjoy ketupat dishes in culinary delights such as Coto Makassar, the typical Soto Banjar and ketupat sayur.

Starting from your Hotel then drive to Samarinda and stop for Lunch. After that continue to Pampang Village watching regular ceremonies of Dayak Kenyah. Than drive to port of Samarinda city, cruise Mahakam river by local charter boat to Kampung ketupat and see the process of making ketupat directly.
